Mentor of Speakers: Helping Speakers Improve their Talks and Presentations.

We asked Mr. Nelson Dauz, a senior leader of the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals, "How are you helping others?" "Helping speakers improve their talks and presentations," is his answer.
I discovered my calling when I began helping members and leaders of our community, the BCBP, prepare talks and Breakfast testimonies.
Over time a clear truth emerged: members already possess unique speaking gifts; they often only need guidance and confidence to bring them forward. I’ve seen shy voices become clear testimonies once someone listened, coached, and believed in them.
They become bolder.
They become confident.
They become committed servant leaders.
I have learned that true mentoring isn’t about shaping replicas of ourselves. It’s about helping each member discover and refine their own style. Limited vocabulary and unique accents must not hinder them from expressing what’s in their hearts. When I have done what I could, I step back and let the Holy Spirit lead. The result is more authentic, more powerful, and ultimately more honoring to God’s design.
There is profound fulfillment in helping someone shine, watching them speak with conviction and share their faith. We are created for community; our gifts find their fullest expression when they bless others.
This conviction is rooted in a biblical and natural wisdom: God, the giver of gifts, intends them for the good of others. Like trees that do not eat their own fruit, God’s blessings are meant to flow outward.
When we mentor, we become channels of that flow, multiplying impact beyond what anyone could achieve. The greatest consolation that I often hear is when they tell me, “Thank you Brother Nelson for your help. I never imagine myself giving a talk or sharing my faith in front of a big crowd like this.” And I always say, “Thank yourself. All I did was to awaken your gift.”
Mentoring speakers is more than a ministry skill; it is a calling to cultivate courage, authenticity, and stewardship of God-given gifts.
I remain committed to loving others, helping them discover their gift, and encouraging them to testify boldly—so our community is strengthened and God is glorified.
Finally, God never leave us without reward when we love others. I have found the true meaning of life:
“Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.:
“Life is good when you are happy. But life is even better when others are happy because of you.”
